IMAGINE

Immersive Video Methodology
How do the techniques in immersive storytelling differ from traditional filmmaking, to offer unique experiences that can't be replicated conventionally?
First-person Experience
A key part to achieving a believable immersive experience was to place the viewer right at the center of action. The composition of shots that captured Tim Blevins were horizontally aligned where your eyes would be looking naturally towards as if you were there in person.
Stage-setting Environments
Unlike traditional flat media where shallow depth-of-field allows for close-up shots, spatial video can be likened to a theater performance with simultaneous events happening on stage. Scenes like these give viewers the freedom and playground to focus on what they want.
Establishing Presence
Immersion is predicated on mimicking real life based on camera and sound positioning. Scenes were filmed to be tangible and coherent, avoiding scenes with impossible angles that break engagement.

Design Process
How do you tell a story that does justice to the fortitude that Tim Blevins has?
Composing a Compelling Narrative
Scenes were categorized into three main categories. They were then subsequently interweaved together to form a relational dynamism between close-up frame and environmental scenes, allowing Tim's narration to be part of the storytelling.
